The Rule That Transforms Struggling Students Into Top Performers

Share

How many people are silently hoping you’ll succeed your parents expecting you to score well, to secure a good rank. But take a moment and ask yourself what are you really doing? Instead of working toward those goals, you’re spending the day lost in distractions. Scrolling endlessly on your phone, thinking it’s harmless but this, right here, is the trap. A clever trick played by your own mind, luring you away from your potential again and again—and you don’t even notice it happening.

Mind Fools You In Three Steps:

1. Dreams and False Motivation

What does this mind do? It shows you dreams again and again. Like today you watched a motivational video then what happens? You feel like from today or tomorrow I will study in such a way that no one would have ever thought of.

You tell yourself that I have to study like this now, I have to set everything on fire, I will become the only one, you just say this.

And then what do you do? Next day you also start studying, and as soon as you start studying.

2. The Distraction Trap

Now what does this mind do? Now this mind tells you that friend, it’s been 5-10 minutes of studying, now what should we do? Let’s use mobile for 5 minutes. Not for long, just 5 minutes we’ll use the phone, 5 minutes we’ll see what’s on the phone, Instagram, and within 2 hours it changes, you don’t even realize.

3. Night Regret

This is the most dangerous step. Now what does this mind do? At night before sleeping, it makes you regret.

This same mind tells you that friend, you wasted the whole day today too, your friend has already done revision by now, what are you doing? Will you top like this? Will you get 95% like this? Will you crack this exam like this?

This mind scares you, makes you regret, and these are the three steps. Because of these three steps, this mind keeps fooling you again and again and you keep getting fooled too.

Today we will end all these three steps, that too with scientific solutions.

The Story of Neha: From 60% to 96%

This story is of a student named Neha. This student was in class 10th. In class 10th, her percentage comes to 60%. Now after a few years, 2 years later, when she gives the class 12th exam, everyone gets shocked. Why? Because her percentage comes to 96% and she tops in her school.

Now everyone is shocked and all students are coming, all teachers are coming to Neha and asking Neha that Neha, you were an average student, what miracle did you do in one or two years that you suddenly became a topper? How was this possible?

So Neha told that I never got distracted. So everyone asked, friend, we get very distracted, we use mobile phones, we talk to friends, what formula did you apply that you never got distracted till today?

So she told what she said. She told a story. She said, come on, let me tell you a small story of my 10th class. When my 10th class result came, when I got 60%, that day I saw my parents crying. I saw my relatives who came and were saying to my parents, see, you educated your daughter, what did you get from educating? Such a small percentage came, what will she do? Many people taunted them that day. I was standing and watching, and I promised myself that from today I will study in such a way that I will top in my school in class 12th and silence all of them. And today I have done it.

Why Goals Matter: Finding Your “Why”

You know why I told you this story because what you keep asking that brother, I’m getting distracted, attention is going to mobile phone, this is happening, that is happening, you know why all this happens? Because you don’t have a big goal, you don’t know why you need to do this work.

You all know that yes, okay brother, I have to clear SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE  NEET, JEE exam, get 95% in class 10th, get 95% in class 12th, but why?

You know why you need to do it?

The reason can be anything. Maybe you need to do it for your parents, for yourself, for your self-respect, it can be anything, but you should at least know your why. Neha knew that now I have to prove everyone wrong, make my parents feel proud, and she did it.

So first of all, if you want to end all these distractions, clear your why. And now pause reading and whatever your why is, comment it too. Like your why can be that friend, I have to do it for my parents, I have to do it for myself, I have to do it to prove my relatives wrong. Whatever your why is, pause reading and first comment it.

Scientific Solutions to Beat Distraction

Now let’s talk about scientific solutions ahead. Look, you want to end distraction as soon as possible, so I’ll tell you some scientific solutions. Listen to all solutions one by one, it’s going to help a lot.

Solution 1: The 10-Minute Rule

First our solution is the 10-minute rule. Listen carefully, this is a scientific fact. I’ll explain the scientific fact to you with a diagram, with a graph. Listen very carefully.

Many scientific studies have shown that the distraction you have, the way you get distracted again and again, it’s only for 10 minutes. Meaning look, like when you sit to study, for 10 minutes your focus doesn’t get set. Have you ever noticed that when you sit to study, the beginning of studying is very difficult? At that time your attention goes to let me use the phone, let me do this, let me do that. How many times does this happen? But it’s only for 10 minutes.

If you controlled yourself for 10 minutes, if you controlled for 10 minutes, then your distraction will end in 1 minute. Meaning from today whenever you get distracted, what should you tell yourself? That okay friend, let me study for 5-10 minutes, just let me study for 5-10 minutes, I won’t study more than this, just 5-10 minutes.

And if you studied for 5-10 minutes, after that all your mind’s distractions, your mobile phone distractions, all those distractions will end and you can easily study with focus. This is our step number one, the 10-minute rule. Start following the 10-minute rule from today, from now. Whenever you’re getting distracted, tell yourself we’ll just study for 10 minutes, just study for 10 minutes. Then see, distraction will automatically end.

Solution 2: No Regrets Policy

Let’s talk about step number two ahead – no regrets. Now look, what’s the biggest problem? Regret. Now you often think that I’ll study for 4 hours, 5 hours, but you’re not able to study. Then what’s happening? At night you sit and regret that friend, I couldn’t do it today too, I couldn’t do this today too, I’m very stupid, I’m very foolish. You’re doing all this, right?

Let me explain this thing also with a small story. Look, imagine today I took you in front of Ambani’s house – you understand Ambani, Mukesh Ambani who is considered one of India’s richest persons. I took you in front of their house and I’m showing you, see how big their house is, how long their car is. So what will be your reaction? You’ll say, friend brother, I don’t have anything, friend brother, they have everything, their life is very good. You’ll say this, right?

Now imagine I take you from there to a person who doesn’t have a house to live in, doesn’t have food to eat twice a day, doesn’t have good clothes to wear. Now what will you say? Brother friend, my life is much better than theirs, at least I have clothes, I have a house to live in, I have food to eat, they don’t even have that. This thing happens, right?

I told you this because this is what happens – comparison. When you compare yourself with a person of better level than you, you’ll feel you’re very bad. But when you compare with a person worse than you, you’ll feel you’re very good.

And this is what your mind does. You keep comparing yourself with toppers again and again. Friend, the topper has completed revision, so what difference does it make? You focus on yourself. What does the class topper matter? Let them do revision, let them do anything, it doesn’t matter. You see, if your syllabus is not complete now, you complete the syllabus, then do revision. Stop comparing with others.

Let’s understand this also with a small example. Look, imagine you thought you’ll study for 6 hours, you thought you’ll study for 6 hours. Now how many hours could you study? Now you could study only 4 hours. Now what will you tell yourself? You’ll tell yourself that friend, I could study only 4 hours, I couldn’t study 2 hours today too. You’ll tell yourself all this, right?

From now on, you’ll stop saying this. What do you have to do? You have to tell yourself that okay, at least today I studied for 4 hours, otherwise what was I doing before? What was I doing before? I was studying only 1 or 2 hours before. Now at least I’ve started studying 4 hours, meaning I’m improving.

You’ll have to tell yourself this every day before sleeping at night. If you’re telling yourself while sleeping that I’m very foolish, friend, I couldn’t study today too, I couldn’t do it today too, you’ll never be able to study, you’ll never be able to achieve your goal.

What do you have to say? Okay friend, I put effort today, I have to put more effort tomorrow. At least today I studied for 4 hours, before I was studying only 1-2 hours. If you stay positive with yourself, if you stay positive with yourself, I’m telling you, life will suddenly change, suddenly. And this is the biggest mistake every student makes.

What is step number two? Not to regret.

Solution 3: Social Media Control

Now let’s move towards our final step which is social media. Now look, social media is a very terrible thing, very good also, very bad also. Now how can we control this? Exam time is going on, I’ll tell you very excellent methods to control.

Look, we are very lazy. You, me, we, every person is lazy. Let me explain with an example. How many times has it happened that in winter season you slept comfortably on the bed, now you don’t feel like getting up, who will go and turn off the light, turn off the fan? This happens because we all are very lazy.

Now we’ll take advantage of this laziness. How?

Look, whenever you say friend, you won’t touch your phone again and again, understand?

Phone and see after the exam, now what do we have to do?

Now only our studies are going to happen, so we have to see only those channels.

So these were some of our techniques by which you can easily reduce social media in your life. Look, social media cannot be eliminated but it can be reduced. How? Because we are lazy. If we start putting passwords, then automatically due to our laziness, we will use mobile less.

Conclusion: Your Today Decides Your Next Four Years

I hope you will use these three scientific tricks and after using them, tell me in the comments whether they helped you or not.

And I tell you one line. Look, what you’re doing today is going to decide your next four years. What happened in the past doesn’t matter, whatever you did in the past doesn’t matter, but what you’re doing today is going to decide your next four years, where you will stand.

So remember, make your today better, forget what happened yesterday, forget whatever wrong you did, forget that you didn’t study, you have to start studying from today, you have to start working hard from today. If you put effort from today, you will change your life.
